Westlife singer Kian Egan will enjoy an early summer wedding as he plans to marry fiancée Jodi Albert in Barbados on 8 May.

The couple announced their wedding plans in early February but had done their best to keep details of their special day private. Egan’s manager and X Factor judge Louis Walsh confirmed last week that the couple would pledge their vows in the beautiful beach holiday setting of the Carribbean.

Like other celebrity weddings and honeymoons, there will be no cheap deals to be found at this lavish event. Some of the celebrity gossip columns have already speculated that the wedding will cost over €1 million. Barbados is one of the most popular of the Carribbean destinations with beautiful beaches and crystal clear water.

Kian and Jodie are due to be married at one of the premier luxury hotels in Barbados, the Sandy Lane resort. The exclusively luxury holiday resort holds special memories for the couple. It was in April last year that the Irish singer and English actress fell in love whilst on an all inclusive Caribbean holiday.

Jodi revealed to Herald.ie that Barbados was her ideal destination for a dream wedding: ‘The wedding reflects exactly who me and Kian are as a couple. It’s so ‘us’, it’s our vibe and everything. It’s brilliant and I can’t wait for it!’

Louis Walsh said that he planned to take a break from his holiday in Miami to be with the couple on their special day. The manager has a hectic schedule coming up this year with five of his acts working on new albums.
